K250 can suit a Bluetooth-equipped desk where you want a number pad without using a USB receiver. It is a poor choice if your plan depends on pairing it with an existing Unifying or Logi Bolt dongle. Check that connection requirement before comparing prices.
This guide covers the current K250 Compact Bluetooth Wireless Keyboard, including the US English QWERTY listing, part number 920-013442. It does not apply an older receiver-based K250 manual to this product. Official manufacturer pages were checked on October 5, 2026. We have not tested typing feel, range, battery endurance or every host. Purchase links may generate an affiliate commission for SEFP Journal without an additional charge to you.
The purchase checks that matter
| Question | Current K250 specification | Buying implication |
|---|---|---|
| Connection | Bluetooth Low Energy | Confirm the host supports BLE keyboards |
| Unifying or Logi Bolt | Not compatible | Those receivers cannot provide its connection |
| Layout | Compact, with number pad | Check the exact regional key layout |
| Battery package | Two AAA batteries, pre-installed | Plan for replacement batteries |

A spare Logitech dongle does not solve missing Bluetooth
Do not order a Unifying or Bolt receiver expecting it to pair with this keyboard. Check the host’s actual Bluetooth capability and permission to pair input devices. A device having a USB port does not establish Bluetooth support.
For a managed work computer, confirm the policy before buying. If Bluetooth is unavailable or prohibited, choose a keyboard with a supported connection for that setup. Buying an unrelated receiver first creates an extra expense without resolving the documented K250 limitation.
Which operating systems are listed?
The current US compatibility panel lists Windows 10/11 or later, macOS 12 or later, ChromeOS, Linux, iPadOS 15 or later, iOS 15 or later and Android 12 or later, alongside the Bluetooth Low Energy requirement. Match both the OS and connection; this is not a guarantee that every shortcut works identically in every application.
If you need a particular shortcut, language input or sign-in workflow, verify it on your intended host. We have not tested pre-boot screens or every corporate login configuration. Avoid assuming a keyboard that works after the OS starts is suitable for every earlier stage.
Compact does not mean no number pad
Logitech lists a compact layout with a number pad. This can suit someone who regularly enters figures but wants to compare desk space carefully. Check the actual keyboard width and your normal mouse position rather than judging the footprint from the word compact alone.
Match the seller’s exact layout and part number. The US QWERTY listing is not a promise that a different regional package has the same printed keys. Look at Enter, punctuation and the language legends before ordering an imported model.
Power and the complete package
The current box lists two pre-installed AAA batteries, documentation and a quick-start guide on the packaging. Logitech’s 12-month battery figure is a manufacturer claim that varies with use; it is not our endurance test or a guarantee of a replacement date.
Include your preferred replacement batteries in the longer-term budget. Check the local seller’s complete contents and warranty. A product image, old manual or similarly named bundle should not replace that package check.
Who needs a different keyboard?
K250 can be enough if a compatible Bluetooth host, a number pad and this layout meet your daily needs. Try the keys where possible: we do not claim a particular feel, noise level or improvement in typing accuracy.
Look elsewhere if receiver pairing is essential or your preferred workflow requires another verified feature. If your main decision is a full-sized illuminated premium keyboard versus a smaller premium model, our MX Keys S vs Mini guide addresses that different choice.
The linked official product page provides current regional purchase options. Compare the actual package, price, delivery, warranty and return terms; a reachable listing does not guarantee stock or suitability for your computer.
FAQ: Why does an old K250 guide mention a receiver?
This guide is scoped to the current Compact Bluetooth product identified above. Do not use a receiver-era document for a similarly named older keyboard as evidence of this model’s compatibility. Match the complete product and part number first.
