Logitech MK295 Buying Guide: SilentTouch, USB Receiver and Battery Costs

MK295 can suit a desk where you want a full-size keyboard and compact mouse together, with reduced key and click noise as the reason to buy. Check its dedicated USB receiver and battery types before ordering: it is not a generic receiver-sharing upgrade for every Logitech device.

This guide covers Logitech MK295 Silent Wireless Combo using official US product and support pages checked on October 5, 2026. We have not tested room noise, typing feel, mouse fit, range or endurance. Purchase links may generate an affiliate commission for SEFP Journal without an additional charge to you.

What SilentTouch tells you—and what it does not

Logitech’s 2020 launch explanation describes 90 percent less noise compared with MK270. That is a manufacturer comparison against a named reference, not our measurement and not a promise that the whole room becomes 90 percent quieter.

If clicks or typing disturb someone nearby, reduced input-device noise can be a useful buying criterion. Try the keys and mouse where possible. The claim does not establish that you will prefer the feel, work faster or find every key inaudible. We do not guarantee a concentration benefit.

The receiver cannot absorb an unrelated Logitech mouse

The model-specific FAQ says MK295 uses a dedicated receiver, cannot pair to a Unifying device, and cannot connect that receiver with another model. Do not buy it expecting to consolidate an existing Unifying peripheral into this combo’s connection.

Check receiver inclusion especially for used or open-box offers. If it is missing, verify the exact replacement/support route with Logitech before ordering; do not assume a random dongle or discontinued pairing utility will solve it. This guide does not promise compatibility with every replacement receiver.

Two battery sizes and a full-size footprint

The keyboard uses two AAA batteries while the mouse uses one AA. Both are listed in the current box. Include those replacement sizes in your longer-term budget rather than treating the package as a USB-rechargeable set. We have not measured replacement intervals.

The keyboard is listed at 441mm wide. Measure the space left for your mouse and normal posture before choosing it for a small desk. A compact bundled mouse and a full-size keyboard are different size decisions, so try each component if possible.

Match the host and the features you need

Use the current US OS list and available-USB-port requirement as the starting point. Wireless does not by itself establish direct Bluetooth pairing or supported use on a phone. If your intended OS is not listed, verify it before buying rather than inferring support from the connector.

A generic support-page banner mentioning customization software is not proof that every device supports it. If remapping or another software feature is essential to you, check exact model support first. We have not tested shortcuts or configuration on your computer.

Who can keep the purchase simple?

MK295 can be enough if you want both peripherals, the layout and included mouse suit you, and its dedicated receiver matches the host. Avoid replacing a satisfactory mouse solely to fill a bundle when a keyboard-only purchase would solve your actual problem.

Compare another setup when you need Bluetooth, a different mouse shape or a verified multi-device workflow. Our K250 Bluetooth guide covers a keyboard-only number-pad option, while the M650 vs M750 guide addresses a separate mouse decision. Their features are not added to MK295 by association.

Use the official product page for current regional purchase options. Confirm complete contents, actual delivered price, warranty and returns. A reachable listing does not guarantee stock or a fixed saving compared with separate purchases.

FAQ: Can a Unifying receiver replace the MK295 receiver?

The official FAQ distinguishes this dedicated receiver from Unifying. Verify a model-specific replacement route rather than buying a Unifying receiver on that assumption.
