Logitech ERGO M575S Buying Guide: Right-Hand Fit, Bolt and Bluetooth

ERGO M575S can suit a right-handed buyer who wants thumb-controlled pointing without sliding a mouse across the desk. Check the control style and receiver first. It is not a left-handed model, and its Logi Bolt connection should not be confused with older Unifying hardware.

This guide covers current consumer ERGO M575S, not original M575, M575 for Business or MX Ergo. Official US product and support pages were checked on October 5, 2026. We have not tested comfort, clicking noise, tracking or endurance. Purchase links may generate an affiliate commission for SEFP Journal without an additional charge to you.

Try thumb control before choosing by the Ergo name

The trackball moves the cursor through your thumb rather than through ordinary mouse sliding. That can be useful where desk movement space is limited, but a different control method still needs to suit your hand and tasks. Try small selections, scrolling and your normal pointer work where possible.

Do not buy it expecting a guaranteed comfort or productivity improvement for every user. If a conventional mouse already suits your routine, the trackball shape alone is not a reason to replace it.

Bolt and Bluetooth solve different connection needs

The included Bolt receiver uses a USB-A host port. The current US panel lists Windows 10/11 or later, macOS 12 or later, Linux and ChromeOS for that connection. Bluetooth requires Low Energy support and additionally lists iPadOS 15 or later and Android 12 or later. Match the connection as well as the OS.

The official getting-started guide describes receiver setup and Bluetooth pairing. Follow the model-specific procedure. This guide does not promise every host shortcut, app or workplace policy permits the same setup.

If you already use a Unifying keyboard, do not assume M575S can join its receiver. Decide whether its included Bolt receiver or your host’s Bluetooth support fits the available ports and permissions. Count any needed data adapter in the actual purchase cost.

Basic pointing and button customization are separate

Choose the controls you will actually use. Check whether your routine depends on a remapped button or simply basic pointer movement. A hardware-support listing is not the same as availability of the desktop customization app.

Before relying on a remapped control, confirm current app requirements and permission to install it. We have not tested your assignments or managed computer. Buy for the functions you can actually use, rather than counting every app feature as available on every platform.

AA power and the complete offer

One AA battery is listed in the box. The manufacturer’s up-to-18-month battery headline is not our endurance measurement or a guaranteed replacement schedule. Keep a spare if an interruption would matter, and do not treat the supplied battery as proof of USB charging.

Confirm the exact M575S regional package and receiver. Used or open-box offers need a complete-contents check, while a product image does not establish that a seller includes every accessory.

Who needs a different control style?

M575S can be enough when right-hand thumb control, one of its documented connections and available basic/configuration functions solve your actual desk problem. Compare another device when you need left-hand use or prefer a conventional moving mouse. Our Lift vs MX Vertical guide addresses a different shape and connection decision.

Use the official product page for current regional purchase options. Check actual price, local warranty, return terms and contents. Page availability is not a guarantee of stock or a particular comfort improvement.

FAQ: Can I keep using my old Unifying receiver?

The current M575S FAQ says no. Use its supported Bolt receiver or a compatible Bluetooth connection rather than assuming the older receiver works.
