Insta360 Flow 2 Pro Standard vs AI Tracker Bundle: Do You Need the Tracker?

Quick answer: the Flow 2 Pro Standard Bundle and AI Tracker Bundle contain the same Flow 2 Pro gimbal. Buy the AI Tracker Bundle if you need accessory-based tracking outside the Insta360 app, especially on Android or an iPhone without DockKit support. The Standard Bundle can be enough for filming in the Insta360 app or using DockKit on a compatible iPhone.

This guide is for buyers deciding whether to pay for the extra tracker. It is based on manufacturer documentation checked on October 5, 2026, not a hands-on tracking test. Store links below go to the manufacturer; prices, package contents and availability should be checked for your country before ordering.

Standard Bundle vs AI Tracker Bundle: what changes?

Built-in gimbal featuresDockKit support, continuous 360-degree pan, built-in tripod and selfie stickSame gimbal features

The extra cost buys an accessory, not a different Pro motor or a higher-tier gimbal body. Check the selected bundle on the official Flow 2 Series store page. The separately named Creator Bundle lists a Spotlight and Magnetic Phone Mount; that package should not be assumed to include the AI Tracker. Source checked October 5, 2026.

Which tracking method does your setup need?

Deep Track 4.0 runs inside the Insta360 app. DockKit is Apple’s system tracking route. The AI Tracker is an accessory attached to the gimbal, with its own subject detection and fill light. These are different ways to follow a subject, not interchangeable promises about camera resolution or remote controls.

The tracker supports people, cats and dogs, but the manufacturer’s comparison lists no multi-person or object tracking for it. Use the Insta360 app for supported object or multi-person workflows, subject to phone compatibility. When the Insta360 app is open, the accessory’s tracking is unavailable; its fill light still works. See the official tracking comparison, checked October 5, 2026.

iPhone, Android and app compatibility: check before buying

Insta360 lists DockKit support for compatible iPhone 12 or later models running iOS 17 or later, explicitly excluding iPhone SE (3rd generation) and iPhone 16e. Its product page says iOS 18 expands native Camera modes and controls, while Pano and Timelapse remain excluded. Do not read “iPhone 12 or later” as a guarantee for every later phone or mode. Check the product FAQ and the third-party app compatibility guide, checked October 5, 2026.

For Android, the manual documents Live Mode and the AI Tracker as routes to third-party-app tracking. It also documents some Samsung native-camera tracking separately. Check your model rather than assuming every Android setup needs the accessory. Bluetooth shutter, zoom and camera-switching support can vary by phone and app; hardware tracking does not automatically unlock every button or lens.

Check physical fit too: the listed phone limits are 6.9–10 mm thick, 64–84 mm wide and 130–300 g. Allow for the case and attached accessories. The manufacturer supplies model-level information in its phone compatibility guide and Flow 2 Series compatibility PDF. Checked October 5, 2026; the listed tested models do not guarantee unlisted combinations.

Who can skip the tracker—and who should consider it?

  • Choose Standard: you mainly record in the Insta360 app, or your compatible iPhone and preferred app already deliver the DockKit workflow you need.
  • Consider AI Tracker: you film solo presentations, calls or livestreams in another app and need tracking without relying on DockKit.
  • Choose by subject: for objects or multiple people, check the Insta360 app’s supported features rather than buying the tracker expecting those capabilities.
  • Wait if unsure: confirm the phone, OS, app, camera mode and controls first; the accessory can be bought separately later.

The trade-off is an extra module to attach, carry and pay for. A fill light can help nearby subjects, but it does not replace choosing the right lighting or guarantee usable tracking in every scene. Follow the manufacturer’s AI Tracker troubleshooting guide for positioning and tracking failures. Checked October 5, 2026.

Can you add it later? What about Flow 2 Plus?

Yes. The official standalone AI Tracker listing names Flow 2 and Flow 2 Pro compatibility. Do not assume it fits the older Flow or Flow Pro. Likewise, buy clamps, MagSafe mounts and Spotlights specified for the Flow 2 generation; the accessory compatibility table distinguishes these from older accessories. The standard clamp is different from the optional MagSafe mount. Checked October 5, 2026.

Flow 2 Plus is an official sales name for Flow 2 with an included AI Tracker. It is not Flow 2 Pro with another name. Adding the tracker to Flow 2 does not add the Pro body’s DockKit support or continuous 360-degree pan. Compare the body and included accessories separately.

Before you order

Compare current official bundles or check the standalone tracker. Select your country, then compare the Standard price plus the standalone accessory against the AI Tracker Bundle’s delivered total. Verify that the cart names Flow 2 Pro and the exact accessories you want. No fixed price, delivery date or stock guarantee is implied.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Standard Bundle already track?

Yes. It supports tracking through the Insta360 app and DockKit on compatible iPhones. The separate accessory is not required for every tracking task.

Does the AI Tracker make every app fully controllable?

No. Accessory-based tracking and camera button functions are separate. Confirm shutter, zoom, lens and mode support for your phone and app.

Should an iPhone user buy the AI Tracker?

Only if its supported subjects, gestures, light or non-DockKit workflow meet a need. Start with the Standard Bundle if your intended DockKit or Insta360-app setup already works.
