Sony WF-C710N vs LinkBuds Fit: Battery, Codecs and Who Should Buy

Consider Sony WF-C710N for ANC, multipoint and longer listed continuous listening time. Consider LinkBuds Fit if its fitting supporters, additional codecs or automatic features solve a specific need. The more expensive option is not automatically the better purchase for every phone or listening session.

This guide compares WF-C710N with LinkBuds Fit, model WF-LS910N. LinkBuds Open and LinkBuds S are separate products. Official specifications and manuals were checked on October 5, 2026. We have not measured sound quality, ANC, call performance, latency or comfort.

The WF-C710N specifications and LinkBuds Fit specifications confirm the codec lists. Sony’s Japanese product pages document the additional features; the English manuals below explain operation. These are availability differences, not a measured ranking.

Codecs: check your phone before paying for LDAC

LinkBuds Fit adds LDAC for a compatible source and LC3 for the appropriate LE Audio connection. Sony’s Fit manual separates Classic Audio codecs from LE Audio and directs LDAC users to the sound-quality priority setting. An earbud specification does not prove your phone, computer or current connection uses that codec.

Our recommendation for iPhone users is to confirm the source device’s available codec before treating LDAC as an upgrade reason. The same applies to Android: check the exact device and active codec in Sound Connect. A compatible codec can add a useful option, but it does not guarantee you will hear a benefit in every recording or environment.

Sources: the manufacturer’s detailed WF-C710N operating-time table and LinkBuds Fit operating-time table. These describe fully charged earbuds; they are not case totals or our test results. Settings such as EQ and DSEE/DSEE Extreme can shorten runtime, as can actual usage conditions.

For long journeys, the C710N’s documented continuous-playback figures are a concrete reason to consider it. For Fit, choosing LDAC changes the listed runtime from its AAC headline figure. Decide whether an extra codec is more useful to you than time between charging breaks; do not combine different settings to create an artificial battery advantage.

Fit, convenience and limitations

LinkBuds Fit includes fitting supporters, and Sony sells alternative supporters and case covers separately. See the official Fit product listing in Japanese. Our view is that the support design is worth evaluating if conventional tips do not stay secure for you, but it cannot guarantee comfort for a particular ear.

Both models support phone-and-computer multipoint, so that feature alone does not require Fit. Check your actual Bluetooth devices and needed app features. The C710N has ANC and an ambient mode even though Fit has additional automatic options.

IPX4 is splash resistance, not permission to swim or immerse the earbuds. Sony’s product information also distinguishes the charging case from the earbuds; do not assume the case has the same protection. For workouts, fit and handling matter alongside the rating.

Which should you buy?

  • Consider C710N: you need ANC, ambient listening and multipoint, value longer listed continuous playback, and its complete local price is lower.
  • Consider Fit: you have a compatible source for the additional codecs or want its supporters and automatic ambient feature enough to accept the runtime and price trade-offs.
  • Wait: your codec, device compatibility or comfortable fit is unconfirmed. Check the manufacturer’s requirements and return policy before buying.

FAQ and related reading

Is Fit an open-ear LinkBuds model? No. This comparison concerns the closed LinkBuds Fit WF-LS910N, not LinkBuds Open.

Do I need Fit to connect two devices? No. Sony lists multipoint for both models, with actual Bluetooth compatibility still requiring a check.

Will Fit automatically sound better? This guide cannot establish that. It documents extra features and codecs, with requirements and battery trade-offs, rather than a measured sound-quality winner.
